Today the pond digger was doing a lot of work on the filtration system (see the 2014 pond tab for progress notes and photos). I spent a little time documenting the eyes of two koi. Zuzu and Irene look normal from the side. After watching them for awhile, you’ll notice that their eyes do not match and look pretty odd. Looking at the koi from above they look like some kind of mutants. Maybe as they grow, their coloration will alter and the eyes will look better…
