Koi Acres Koi

Koi Acres is the closest koi dealer to me. I have purchased many koi from them since late 2012 and the koi generally do quite well. In fact I would say my Koi Acres koi have been very hardy and forgiving of my novice koi keeping skills. This week, Devin and Mikki Swanson are delivering my goromos and some little tosai. I need more tosai like another hole in my head, but we’re looking for some more color variety in our upper pond.

the replacements....since our new little lemon hariwake committed suicide and the new kin ki utsuri fell ill and died.... we decided to buy four more little tosai.

Tarzan, the asagi, was one of the first koi I purchased from Koi Acres. Devin Swanson helped me to pick out a “cute” one in October 2012. A little less than two years later, Tarzan was Young Champion B at the 2014 UMKC Koi Show.
Irene was purchased from Koi Acres, in the spring of 2014. Several times we found her with her head stuck under a rock. She's now very pretty.

T2 stands for Takuan 2. the first Takuan died trying to eat something out of the bottom drain. In one year, T2 has made some impressive growth. He might be our future little porpoise.

Another random koi purchased at an auction. Ika looks interesting in a Pig Pen kind of way.
