The upper pond from the rooftop this past Saturday. Still need to finish placing rocks and planting evergreens around the waterfall. The filtration equipment structure is done and we have planted a number of new plants suggested by the landscape designer. My makeshift cover for the pond until the pergola feature gets going. We have two of the posts put in and squared….we’ll need two more posts behind them next.I originally wanted a pond with just shiro utsuris but Miyu and Super were just too big to leave in this pond. So we took the two large omosako shiro utsuris out and brought back some small tosai – two asagi koi and a midorigoi. The feeding style of this pond changed instantly. All the small tosai koi are now right up front during feeding time and are eating better.Happy koi in the upper pondThe two large shuro utsuris like it better in the upper pond. More room to swim! The pond digger went into the pond over the weekend to get some rocks off the bottom of the pond. All the koi were a little alarmed…
