Thankfully we don’t live in a drought area

The pond digger has been working hard on the lower/winter pond. He’s made great progress and in fact the lower pond is filled and the waterfall is running. I just didn’t want to put up a photo until the dust in the water has cleared a bit and we get some of the pond site put back together… The pond digger is feeling his age tonight. Most of us take regular breaks while working, particularly in 80+ degrees weather. Not the pond digger…he works like a beaver dog. This has some risks, particularly on hour ten or eleven of working when fatigue compromises your balance – we had an unintended swim in the newly filled pond.

I spent most of my day at the Upper Midwest Koi Club Fall Auction. I didn’t bid on anything since I’m trying to limit the number of koi I have going into winter. While I was gone, pond digger told me he had to fill and pump out the pond a few times. Little things like trying to get the pond liner to sit better or readjusting the new skimmer height – our grass got a very thorough watering today.

here are some photos from this morning…can’t wait to see how it looks when I wake up!
